Impacts by Zoning Article
Article 13 SAV Zoning VOTE NO! on South Acton Village Zoning
SAV zoning is NOT required by law. It's an option.
SAV Zoning, if passed will:
- destroy existing affordable housing on River Street and displace tenants
- increase carbon footprint
- destroy historic / cultural assets
- increase taxes
- increase traffic
- create water problems
The intention of this article is wonderful. It's intended to "incentivize" [code words for "allowing more condos"] developers to create quaint shops.
It could do that. But it could also not do that.
Based on our research, we believe it's far likely that it will have serious negative consquences. As a result, we urge you to VOTE NO! until these loopholes are fixed in this proposed zoning, to protect the town, tenants, and the environment.
